This week's colour challenge for Create with Connie & Mary was focused on some neutrals with just a pop of colour. I thought that the Color & Contour Stamp Set would be perfect to use, I just love the flower images in it.
Here are the 3 colours that we had to use for the challenge this week; Polished Pink, Basic Black and Smoky Slate. Now, if you haven't tried out the new Polished Pink In Color yet, I highly recommend it, it really is the perfect shade of pink!
For my card, I used a Smoky Slate card base (5 1/2" x 8 1/2", folded in half at 4 1/4"). I then added a piece of Basic White at 4" x 5 1/4" to be the backdrop for the rest of the card. First, I stamped the image that kind of looks like a paint splatter, in Smoky Slate, 3 times on the card. I then stamped my flower, first in Black for the outline and then the inside was Polished Pink, of course. I cut the flowers out using the coordinating dies and then added each one on top of the splatter stamps.
For the sentiment, I combined a couple stamps. The little words are from the same Color & Contour stamp set. I just stamped the whole thing and then cut out the words that I wanted. For the 'happy', I used the awesome Biggest Wish Stamp Set. It really is the best stamp set, one that can be used on so many cards! Once I had cut out the word, I realized that it fit perfectly on a piece of Polished Pink DSP that was punched out with the Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch. Finally, I just add a few of the black Matte Dots and was all done!
