2 Gift Card Holder Ideas with Stampin' Up!'s Waterside Retreat DSP: Weekly Class To Go

Masculine projects can sometimes feel tricky to make… but this week’s projects came together thanks to the Waterside Retreat Designer Series Paper!

For this week’s Weekly Class To Go, I created two gift card holders that are perfect for Father’s Day, birthdays, graduations, or really any occasion where you need a quick handmade gift idea.

Gift card holders are also one of my favourite things to make because they turn something practical into something that feels much more personal and thoughtful. And let’s be honest… most people love getting a gift card even more when it’s tucked inside a cute handmade project. 😊

Be sure you watch the video replay below as I walk you through both gift card holder designs and then you'll be all ready for the next special event!

Waterside Retreat Stampin' Up

Gift Card Holder 1:

This holder is a 3D box that perfectly fits a gift card or even a little treat. I made a similar one for my recent Catalogue Launch Party and it fit a mini Dairy Milk Chocolate Bar and tea bag perfectly!

  • I just love the hand drawn feeling on this patterned paper. Even if you're like me and don't have too much connection to the water, the patterns on the other side of the DSP are so versatile! Or you can go all in on the water theme and have a lot of fun!

  • TIP: I used my April 2026 Paper Pumpkin Stamp Set for the sentiments. They were perfect! But if you didn't receive the kit, you'll also love the Relaxing Waterside Stamp Set that matches this paper.

  • The DSP has lots of fun images that you can fussy cut and add as details to your project. I love these little fish!

Gift Card Holder 2:

Now maybe you're like me and you need to mail your gift out - then this little folder will be the option for you. It's flat and ready to go in the mail!

  • TIP: This also fits a gift card perfectly, and the twine holds it in. But you can also choose to close up the side with some glue or just secure your gift card with a glue dot if you're worried about it falling out.

  • I was able to stamp out this cute bicycle perfectly with a 2 3/8" Circle Punch! Such an easy way to add some detail to the front.
