3 Ways to Add JOY to Your Christmas Cards : Weekly Class to Go

This week’s projects are all about spreading a little extra JOY! Each card features the word JOY using the Party Alphabet Dies, with three different ideas for how to design your letters. You’ll see ideas from bold and playful to classic Christmas — a perfect mix of inspiration to help you with your Christmas cardmaking.

If you’re looking for some fun ideas for your alphabet dies (or just want a fun reason for more crafting for the holidays), this class is a great place to start.

(See the full video tutorial below).

Stampin' Up - Christmas card ideas - Joy Christmas Card - Party Alphabet Dies

Card 1

I love a fun and playful colour combo for Christmas cards and I'm so happy with this one - doesn't it make you feel 'joyful'?😄

  • Colour Combo: Poppy Parade, Pool Party & Granny Apple Green.

  • Party Alphabet Dies Tip: Stamp on your letters to create fun patterns.

  • Use your Two-Tone cardstock when you need to create contrast, but want the same colour. The embossed paper has the light side of Granny Apple Green so the 'Y' doesn't get lost.

Card 2

For this card I wanted to go with a more traditional Christmas feel and I have been dying to find a way to use the amazing 'All Season Velvet' Specialty Paper.

  • Colour Combo: Traditional Red & Green!

  • Party Alphabet Dies Tip: Cut the letters out of your favourite specialty paper for a bit of something 'extra' on your card.

  • You can snuggle the letters up together for a different look too.

Card 3

I wanted to finish things off with a quick and simple card. I love the look of Buffalo Plaid and was hoping to find a way to get it into a project this Christmas.

  • Party Alphabet Dies Tip: Cut your letters right out of your favourite DSP and the pattern can be the star of your card.

  • This pattern is from the 'Weekend Adventures' DSP and is actually Cajun Craze. I tried colouring it with my Real Red Stampin' Blends and it worked! Perfect colour😍.
