CCMC673: Jar of Flowers

I'm still feeling all of the summer vibes this week as I join in with Create with Connie & Mary for our Thursday Challenge. All this month we are looking to Stampin' Up!'s Annual Catalogue for some inspiration. I do love to garden and I've got pretty blooms on my mind, so I thought that it was a good time to bring out my Jar of Flowers Stamp Set.

I decided to use the layout of the card to spark my card idea this week. It is a great design and would look good with your favourite DSP and stamp set. Here is the card from the catalogue that we were casing.

The background of my card comes from the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper and is the perfect backdrop for a fresh farm look for this card. It was cut to the full size of the front of the card, 5 1/2" x 4 1/4". I then layered 3 pieces of this fun Fresh Freesia gingham patterned paper from the Pansy Petals DSP, each cut at 1 1/2" x 3 3/4".

I love the Jar of Flowers Stamp Set, but I can still be a little intimidated by stamp sets that need to be coloured in! However, I decided to just go for it and had a lovely time colouring the flowers in with my Watercolour Pencils and Blending Pens. The jar was stamped in Crumb Cake, the water in Pool Party and the stems in Evening Evergreen. You could add any sentiment to this card, but I love this sweet one that comes with the Pansy Patch Stamp Set. Add a little linen thread and my card is complete!

I hope this card gives you a little inspiration for your own crafting! Be sure to head over to Create with Connie & Mary to see what the other lovely ladies created this week!
