CCMC675: Playing with the Penguin Place Bundle

Today is my last week of CASEing (Copy and Share Everything) the Catalogue with Create with Connie & Mary for our Thursday Challenges in July. We have been taking a project from the Annual Catalogue and using it for our inspiration to make our own cards. For this week I decided to copy the layout and I had this cute little penguin stamp set sitting on my desk and was dying to play with it and try it out!

Seriously, isn't he the coolest? ;) The Penguin Place Bundle will be in the upcoming July-December 2021 Mini Catalogue that begins just next week! He is really easy to stamp and comes with lots of accessories for you to play with, like a toque and a scarf and super cute things like antlers and a Rudolph nose!

Here is the original card from the Annual Catalogue that we were caseing this week. When you are caseing, you can let anything inspire you, the layout, the colours or the stamp set.

The colours for my card were inspired by the fabulous Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper that you will be able to earn for free during Sale-a-Bration which starts next week already, August 3rd! I used Just Jade as my card base. Then I liked how this card had layers of squares and rectangles as the design and it was easy to build up my card from there.

The fun polka dot pattern was cut at 3 1/4" x 4 " and laid on a piece of Fresh Freesia cardstock cut at 3 1/2" x 4 1/4". I needed a little background for my Penguin, so I turned to another Sale-a-Bration item, the Textures & Frames Stamp Set. You are going to love this set as a fun way to add backgrounds onto your cards. I took the rectangle shape and stamped it once in Soft Sea Foam and once in Misty Moonlight. The dimensions are 2" x 2 1/4", the perfect size for my little Penguin. The sentiment also comes from the Penguin Place Stamp Set and was stamped in Just Jade on Soft Sea Foam and cut out at 2 3/4" x 1/2".

The penguin was stamped and then punched out using the Penguin Builder Punch. I fussy cut out the balloon and even though it's hard to see in the picture I added Wink of Stella to the whole balloon to add some sparkle! The gems come from the Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels which are a must have. The colours just seem to go with everything!

I hope you liked seeing how I cased the catalogue sample this week. For more inspiration from all the fabulous ladies, be sure to head over to Create with Connie & Mary to see how they interpreted the challenge this week.
