CCMC688: A Spooky Colour Combo

Halloween is only a couple days away and I am loving the colour challenge that we had this week for Create with Connie & Mary. If you want to move away from just the traditional black and orange for Halloween, it's fun to throw in a couple of unexpected colours and have some fun!

Stampin' Up!® Halloween Card

These colours give a more playful vibe to your Halloween projects. It would also be fun to use them as inspiration for your Halloween decor and treats! Here are the exact colours we used this week.

I went for a lot of textures in this card to go with the fun colours. The base of the card is Basic Black. The Basic White, cut at 4" x 5 1/4" was embossed with the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder. Next up was a piece of Pumpkin Pie, cut at 3 1/2" x 2" and I embossed it as well, this time with polka dots. I layered these 2 together, then wrapped black twine around before I adhered it to the card base.

Stampin' Up!® Halloween Card

Using the Layering Circles Dies, I cut the scalloped edge out in Highland Heather. The regular circle came from the Pattern Party DSP. To add a little sparkle, I took a 2 1/4" x 1" piece of Black Glitter Paper and angled the edges. For the sentiment you could choose any of your favourite Halloween sayings. I combined 2 stamp sets here to get the "Hello Boo". I just love that cute little ghost!

I hope you liked this card and learned how these 3 fun, bright colours can be used together and how to layer a variety of textures onto your card as well. For more fun ideas with these colours, be sure to head over to Create with Connie & Mary to see what the other lovely ladies made this week.
