Colour Combo: CCMC652

This week's Colour Challenge for Create with Connie & Mary, was just that . . . a challenge! I'm sure everyone has their favourite colours that they always use and a few that go kind of untouched. I have to admit that my whole purple collection has been a little neglected! So, I really enjoyed stepping out of my comfort zone a little bit.

These are the 3 colours that I needed to incorporate into my card for this week. They are such fabulous spring colours to pull us out of the chilly February we've been having!

I actually did not have a lot of items in the Highland Heather, just cardstock and ink, so it was fun to try to figure out how to highlight that colour in the card. I chose the Seaside Spray as the card base. I then layered a piece of Basic White Cardstock, cut at 4" x 5 1/4", that was embossed with the fabulous Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder. (You need this in your collection!). The sentiment was heat embossed in white on Highland Heather, using one of my most beloved bundles, So Sentimental.

To bring in some more colour, I decided to cut out some of the flowers from the True Love Designer Series Paper. As I mentioned, all I had of Highland Heather was ink and paper. So, I used the Sponge Daubers to lay some simple colour onto the flowers. I'm not a colouring expert, but I liked the way they turned out! For a list of all the products I used today, just check out the end of the post.

Be sure to head over to the Create with Connie & Mary blog to see the rest of the cards from the other designers. They are so beautiful! I know you will be inspired to play along. Make your own card with these colours and then post yours on the Facebook page.
