Colour Inspiration: CCMC669

I have been in summer mode lately as we have been enjoying an unusually warm June here in Calgary. What better way to cool off than with some delicious ice cream! So, when I saw this week's colours for our colour challenge for Create with Connie & Mary, all I could think of was Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream!

Doesn't it look delicious?! This is such a "sweet" card with these soft colours and I think that it would be perfect for a little girl's birthday. Here are the colours that are featured this week.

Once I had decided on my theme of Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream, the rest of the card came together fairly easily. The lovely soft Pale Papaya background is from the Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper, cut at 4" x 5 1/4". I then layered the fun ice cream cone background (which is sold out unfortunately!) cut at 4" x 2" on top of some Mint Macaron cardstock cut at 4" x 2 1/2".

The most beautiful ribbon to go along with this soft look is, in my opinion, the White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon. I just love how light and feathery it looks on a project. I made sure to wrap it around my cardstock before I attached it to the card front. The sentiment was stamped in Mint Macaron and cut out with the label die from the Pierced Blooms Dies. The ice cream cone was of course stamped in Mint Macaron and Cinnamon Cider and punched out with the Ice Cream Corner Builder Punch. The Genial Gems were the perfect finishing touch!

I hope this gave you a little inspiration on how these fabulous colours can work together. Be sure to head over to Create with Connie & Mary to see all the other lovely projects that were created this week. Then go ahead and pull out your crafting supplies and get creative with us!
