Count on Me Stamp Set

Have you ever purchased a stamp set for one particular image? I have to admit, I just could not resist the koalas in the Count on Me Stamp Set in Stampin' Up!'s Annual Catalogue! Koalas have been my favourite animal for as long as I can remember, they are irresistibly cute!

I thought that the koalas would make an awesome baby card, so I pulled together some sweet and soft elements to bring this card to life.

The background is cut out from the Hand-Penned DSP using the largest rectangle from the Scalloped Contours Dies. I then wrapped some Just Jade gingham ribbon through the scallops on the side and tied a knot to the left.

I then used the Layering Circles Dies to set the stage for the koalas. To add a little dimension to the white background, I used my Blending Brushes in Just Jade for a little softness. The koalas were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, coloured in with Smoky Slate Blends and then cut out. I stamped the sentiment in Basic Grey on Petal Pink cardstock to give it a softer look than if I had used black ink.

Now, I actually did use the penguin first on a card last week and I know that I will love to use the rest of animals in this stamp set as well. There is such a cute variety! My daughter's favourite animal are bears, so I will need to make one with the cute bear as well!
