Flower & Field DSP: CCMC651

This Thursday, together with the other designers on the Create with Connie & Mary Thursday Challenge, I have a fun sketch challenge to share with you.

I cannot believe that Sale-a-Bration is almost over, these 2 months went by so quickly! So, I wanted to be sure to use this Flower & Field Designer Series Paper again to share with you how awesome it is. I thought that it would be fun to only use this DSP on the card with no other embellishments.

I just love the sketch we had to work with this week. I have never made a card with this design before and it was so much fun! Here's a look at the sketch so that you can try it out for yourself.

I chose one sheet of the Flower & Field DSP and cut a piece to 5" x 3 3/4". Then on my Paper Trimmer I cut the diagonal lines to make the triangles. Simply line up two opposite corners of the DSP on the trimmer and cut from one corner to another. Then, holding the two pieces together, turn the DSP on the diagonal to the other two corners and make a similar cut, one corner to another. And voilá, you have 4 matching triangles! I just used one sheet of DSP since I loved the pattern on both sides. However, you could choose 2 different papers and then easily make 2 cards at once!

I laid my triangles on a piece of Basic White Cardstock cut at 5 1/4" x 4" and adhered it to my Basic Black card base (5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored in half at 4 1/4").

The circle is cut from another pattern of the DSP, using the Layered Circles Dies. The yellow patterned paper, is from, you guessed it, the Flower & Field DSP too! It is cut at 4" x 1/2". The flowers I fussy cut out from the DSP as well. I just love that from one set of paper you can create so many fun elements for a card!

The sentiment is from the Timeless Tropical Stamp Set and is in Just Jade ink, cut out with the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.

I really hope you will try this fun sketch out for yourself! Be sure to go to the Facebook Page to share your creation.
