Handmade Card Ideas with the Magnolia Mood Bundle

I don't know about you, but I am all ready for spring to start arriving. I can always tell when I start to use all spring colours and products in my card making!

This week on my YouTube Live (replay below), I shared a few ideas using the Online Exclusive Magnolia Mood Bundle from Stampin' Up!. We can't grow them here in Calgary, but it was fun to pretend while crafting😄.

Stampin' Up! Magnolia Mood Bundle. Stampin' Up Canada.

Sometimes I can get intimidated by a stamp set that needs to be coloured, but I decided to be brave and give it a go! On this card I used my Calypso Coral Stampin' Blends for the flower with Granny Apple Green and a hint of yellow for the centre. I find that if you follow the design of the stamp set and where the shading already exists, you'll know where to add your depth of colour. With the magnolia as the main feature of the card, I kept the rest simple by adding in a few black & white elements and a Pool Party Card Base.

The next card was all about the Magnolia Mood Dies. I wanted to show that you could create a card without the stamp set too. It's fun to just cut out all the dies in different colours and see what you like once you start layering them up. I actually had a really hard time coming up with a colour combo for this, but it finally came together when I chose Berry Burst as the base. I added in Bubble Bath and Granny Apple Green and was happy with the result.

I also wanted to share another card idea to show the all the flower images from the stamp set. This time I coloured it in Bubble Bath and made my own background for the card. This would be fun to create a little set for someone, each card with the flowers in a different colour! Adding the sentiment in black keeps a simple and elegant look to the card.
