We are all drawn to certain suites of products in a new catalogue depending on our own tastes and interests. The Sweet Symmetry Suite in the new 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue from Stampin' Up! is one that just grabbed me right away. The colours in the Sweet Symmetry Designer Series Paper are all my favourites and they are so much fun to work with! For today's card, I just wanted to highlight some of the fun of this suite of products!
I just love the fun patterns on this paper! I find paper like this quite versatile and can be used for many different occasions. I wanted to make a card that focused on the paper and make it the star of the show.
I took a Basic White card base, 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", folded it in half at 4 1/4" and then cut 1" off the front of the card. I then chose a pattern from the DSP, cut it at 6 3/4" x 5 1/2" and folded it in half at 3 3/8". I then wrapped this piece of DSP around the front of the card so that I could still see the fun pattern when I opened the card! I cut a 1 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of coordinating DSP and put in on the edge of the inside of the card so that it would also show when the card is closed.
For the sentiment I used a scalloped circle base in Pool Party, layered the awesome Flirty Flamingo Gold Metallic Ribbon on top next (folded in thirds), then stamped the sentiment in Just Jade. It was cut out with a die from the Pierced Blooms Dies, but any of your favourite label dies would work great. The flowers were stamped in Bumblebee and fussy cut out. The jewels come from the Holiday Rhinestones.
