Hello! Thanks for joining us on the Create with Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop! It is that beautiful time of year where the fall colours are in their full glory and so our theme for this week is Fall Trees. Here in Calgary we have had an unusually warm and dry fall, so everything is so beautiful. I wish it would last longer! When designing this week's card I realized I only have one stamp set with trees (if you can believe it!), but I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it.
I thought that it would be fun to add multiple colours to the tree, so I inked it up using Sponge Daubers. The bottom is Crushed Curry, then Cajun Craze and the top is Merry Merlot. It's actually quite simple and there's no right or wrong way to add on the colour. The base of the card is Cajun Craze, then this black & white patterned paper (Rustic Harvest DSP) cut at 4 1/8" x 5 3/8". The basic white for the tree is cut at 3" x 5".
Fall always makes me think of Thank You cards, so I chose this sentiment from the Happiness Abounds Stamp Set. It is heat embossed in white on Cajun Craze cardstock. In keeping with an autumn feel I added some Linen Thread and a few Brushed Metallic Dots in the copper colour.
