Hello! Thanks for joining us on the Create with Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop! This week our theme is all about the guys! Now, I have to admit I don't have a lot of stamp sets for the guys, but I instantly thought of this lion from the Zoo Crew DSP. Me and my family love backyard fires and we especially love to roast marshmallows and s'mores. So here's a card in honour of my handsome hubby and my handsome son too!
This is a card layout that I go to often, it's one of my favourites and can look good with so many different stamp sets. The card base is Blueberry Bushel and the patterned paper, cut to 3 3/4" x 5" is from the Zoo Crew paper as well. The circle comes from the Fresh as a Daisy DSP and is using the largest circle from the Stylish Shapes Dies.
The star of the card is the lion of course! He is not actually coloured in on the paper, so using my Stampin' Blends (Daffodil Delight and Lemon Lolly), I gave him some life. The trees and fire were partially coloured, so I added to the trunks and also the little rocks around the campfire.
The sentiment was heat embossed in black on Pumpkin Pie cardstock and cut to 3" x 1". I think this card turned out so cute and is one of my favourites!
