Saturday Blog Hop: Glitzy Halloween

Hello! Thanks for joining us on the Create with Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop! This week we are going with a theme of Glitzy Halloween. I like this theme as I've always liked cute and fun Halloween costumes and decor as opposed to anything super scary. Stampin' Up! has lots of fun sparkly products to choose from, so it was hard to narrow it down to what I wanted to use!

My inspiration started with a colour combo of Cajun Craze, Fresh Freesia and Pretty Peacock. It's a little bit different, but I think still fun for fall or Halloween. The DSP for the main part of the card comes from the Snowflake Magic Specialty DSP. It is white and silver and is perfect for adding colour to! Using my Blending brushes I added on the 3 colours, then with a kleenex just wiped off some of the ink from the silver parts.

To add more sparkle, I cut a strip from the Silver Adhesive-Backed Glimmer Paper and I also cut out 3 stars. The star die came from the Merriest Trees Dies. I'm not sure if it shows up in the photo, but using a Sponge Dauber, I added a little bit of Cajun Craze to the stars to give them some colour.

I also did the same thing with the sentiment that I had heat embossed in white on black cardstock. The sentiment was cut out with this label die from the Christmas Classics Dies. I really wanted a Halloween saying for this card, so I had to dig into my Paper Pumpkin stash to find a good one. To make it even more Halloween-y, you could add in an image from any of Stampin' Up!'s awesome Halloween stamp sets.
