Saturday Blog Hop: Pleated Paper Technique

Hello! Thanks for joining us on our Create with Stamping Friends Saturday Blog Hop! We're exploring different techniques this month and this week we are making cards featuring a pleated paper technique. This is one that I have never tried before, so it was so much fun to learn something new!

Stampin' Up! Pleated Paper Technique. Seasons of Elegance DSP
Materials Used

This card is all about the beautiful new Specialty DSP that can be found in the Sept to Dec Mini Catalogue. A special technique deserved a special paper!:

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Create the Pleated Paper Design:

    1. Cut DSP to 9 1/4" x 4".

      1. Score at 1/4" and 3/4". Repeat until you've scored all the way to the end.

    2. Fold the paper. Start with a mountain fold, then a second mountain fold. Then do 2 valley folds. Repeat this pattern until you reach the end.

    3. Using Tear & Tape on all the back panels, adhere to a piece of card stock. (I suggest putting it on a scrap piece of cardstock and then cutting it out to size as it was hard to get it on perfectly straight.)

  2. Card Front:

    1. Adhere the pleated paper design to card front. I used Basic Beige as my card base. (8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored in half at 4 1/4".

    2. Cut long banner shape from Greetings of the Season Dies in Cherry Cobbler. Adhere to card front.

    3. Cut 11" of ribbon and adhere on top of banner piece.

    4. Heat emboss sentiment in gold on Basic Beige and cut to size. Adhere on top of ribbon with dimensionals. (Sentiment is from "Reindeer Fun")

    5. Add gems as desired. (Gold Texured Adhesive-Backed Dots)
