Hello! Thanks for joining us on the Create with Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop! It's the beginning of a new year and I'm looking forward to another year of card ideas to share with you. Our theme for this week is 'Say Hello to Sale-a-Bration'. How can you not love this time of year on the Stampin' Up! calendar?
I think Stampin' Up! really outdid themselves with the free products available through Sale-a-Bration this time and I've chosen one of my favourites to create with today, the Flight & Airy DSP that you can earn for free with a $60 purchase.
I've been wanting to try fussy cutting one of the patterns from this paper. The flowers and the birds are just so cute! To make the most of the design, I decided to make a slim line card. This is a card base that is 8 1/2" x 7" and scored in half at 3 1/2". I spent the time to fussy cut out this pattern and then used multipurpose glue to put it on top of another of the patterns from the DSP cut to 3 1/4" x 8 1/4".
I wanted to keep the sentiment simple, so I used this 'happy birthday' from the Artistically Inked Stamp Set. I stamped in Lost Lagoon on a 1/2" strip of Basic White and used dimensionals to add it to the card with a bit of Flirty Flamingo Twine.
Now, I realize not everyone will want to fussy cut out such a large detailed image and you probably wouldn't want to make a whole set of these! So, I decided to make a quick version of this card. This is the same pattern of DSP, just cut in a whole piece at 3 1/4" x 8 1/4". It honestly looks just as good because the paper is so pretty. So you can decide if you want to cut it out or not!
