Hello! Thanks for joining us on the Create with Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop! Do you have a huge sweet tooth like me? Then this week's theme is perfect for you! It's all about creating a card showcasing something sweet and delicious.
I have been loving the 'Carnival Treats' Stamp Set and thought it would be fun to create a box of donuts for you!
I first stamped 3 donuts, 2 in Pecan Pie and 1 in Early Espresso, then fussy cut them out. Then, I stamped 3 more in: Bubble Bath, Berry Burst and Flirty Flamingo. For these ones, I fussy cut out the icing part of the donut and glued it on to the brown base. I decided they would look better with the centre cut out, so I used the hobby blade from the Take Your Pick Crafter Tips to cut it out. (Yay for the glass mat for this!)
To create the box, I cut a 5" x 3 1/4" piece of DSP to put the donuts on. The frame (or the box) was created with the Radiating Stitches Dies. I added a piece of Window Sheet behind the frame and then laid this on top of the donuts. If you wanted a more 3D look, you could add some Dimensionals or Foam Adhesive Strips, but I just laid mine flat.
The key to making it look like a box is to wrap the twine around it and add a tag. The sentiment from the Ice Cream Swirl Stamp Set was perfect. It was heat embossed in white on Pecan Pie and cut out with the Tailored Tags Dies. So cute! Doesn't it make you want to go out to Tim Horton's and buy some donuts?!
