Saturday Blog Hop: Texture Time

Hello! Thanks for joining us on the Create with Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop! Our theme for this week was 'Texture Time', where we needed to add some texture to our cards. I had a package of Embossing Paste sitting in my drawer that I had bought a couple years ago and never even opened! So, I figured that now was the time to try and figure out how to use it 😁.

Stampin' Up! Ice Cream Swirl Bundle

I thought that it would be fun to use it as ice cream! I put some paste on my glass mat (or silicone mat works too) and then added one drop of Flirty Flamingo Ink. Once I had mixed the colour in, I spread it onto some Thick Basic White Cardstock and let it dry. Then I cut out the ice cream detail using the Ice Cream Swirl Dies.

The colour for the rest of the ice cream was done with Blending Brushes. The ice cream in Flirty Flamingo and the base in Pecan Pie.

I also played around with the paste for the sprinkles! I created a mask with the sprinkles die, then spread the paste over it and pulled the mask off. Once it had dried, I cut out the sprinkles with the same die. So cute!

Once you've got your ice cream cone done, you can put it on any background and add a sentiment. I used Pecan Pie Cardstock and a pattern from the A Little Latte DSP.

Does it make you want to go out and grab some ice cream?!
