Hello! Thanks for joining us on the Create with Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop! I am really enjoying our current series of casing each other. It's so great to go through everyone's blog and see all the amazing projects they have created. This week is all about Cindy! I just loved this card from last Christmas. I'm always drawn to the cute whimsical styles and thought this layout was great too.
The Merry Bright & Bold DSP from this year is the perfect way to get a similar look to what Cindy created. I used the same colour scheme adding in the Shaded Spruce and sparkling gold elements. I decided to take the layout and just turn it on its side for a landscape card.
The DSP is cut to 5 1/4" x 4" and is matted on Shaded Spruce that is just a 1/8" larger. I then put this on a white card base.
I wanted to use the same embossed look that Cindy did and was excited to try out the Christmas Tidings Embossing Folder for the first time. (It's so cute!) To change up the gold trim a bit, I added a scalloped edge by using the border die that comes in the Scalloped Contours Dies on the fun Online Exclusive, Gold Adhesive-Backed Glimmer Paper. To finish off I decided to go with this fun bold sentiment from the Joy to You Stamp Set, heat embossing clear over Shaded Spruce just to make it stand out a bit more.
