Saturday Blog Hop: Casing Cindy Elam

Hello! Thanks for joining us on the Create with Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop! We are in the midst of a fun series, where each week we will case a card from one of the designers. Casing is a term that just means, 'copy and share everything'. It's one of the joys of card making, to be inspired by others' creativity!

This week, we are casing Cindy Elam! As always, there are so many great cards to choose from, but I loved the layout and the bright fun colours on this Christmas card.

I am always drawn to the whimsical Christmas products and the Santa Express Suite is no exception! In Cindy's card, she used the super cute Santa Express Designer Series Paper and I thought that I would go for a similar look but using the Santa Express Memories & More Card Pack. Don't overlook these card packs, they combine fun patterns with pictures that you can cut out or stickers to use for cards or memory keeping.

Here are the basic dimensions:

• Thick Basic White Card Base: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored in half at 4 1/4"

• Top Pattern: 5 1/4" x 2"

• Bottom Pattern: 5 1/4" x 2 1/4"

• Poppy Parade Strip: 5 1/4" x 3/4"

I attached all 3 pieces of paper together and then I wrapped this Gold Shimmer Ribbon around before I adhered it all to the card base. The Santa is from the Card Pack and I just fussy cut him out. The sentiment is from the Brightest Glow Stamp Set. It has so many great pairings of sentiments, you will love it for making your Christmas cards. I stamped the 'Merry Christmas' in Poppy Parade and then heat embossed it with clear powder just to make it pop a little bit more.

I have been waiting for the perfect card to use the Flat Jingle Bell Trinkets and now I think they will start showing up in all my Christmas cards! I tied it onto the gold ribbon using some gold twine. Lastly, I added my favourite Iridescent Gems for a little more shine.
