Saturday Blog Hop: Celebrating Sale-a-Bration

Updated: Feb 1, 2022

Hello and welcome to the Create with Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop! This week we are continuing our celebration of our favourite Stampin' Up!® promotion, Sale-a-bration. Last week we focused on our favourite stamp set and this week we choose our favourite Designer Series Paper. I am in love with all the bright cheery colours in the Sunshine & Rainbows DSP that you can earn for free with a $60 purchase. The best part is that it also coordinates with the Rainbow of Happiness Bundle from the new January to June Mini Catalogue.

I decided to make more than one card this week so that I could really show off the paper. This first one is basically just a 5 1/4" x 4" piece of the DSP on top of a Bermuda Bay card base. All that I added was the sentiment in black and the cute little hearts in Magenta Madness. This sentiment was perfect and is from Sale-a-Bration's Special Moments Stamp Set.

I wanted to keep this card simple as well. The card base is Pool Party. The DSP is cut at 4" x 5 1/4" on a Magenta Madness mat of 4 1/8" x 5 3/8". Again, all I added was the sentiment. This time I heat embossed it in white on So Saffron.

For my final card, I wanted to add in the Rainbow of Happiness Bundle. This was actually the first time that I had really played with the dies and they are just so much fun! Here are the dimensions for this card.

  • Basic White: 5" x 3 3/4"

  • DSP 1: 4 7/8" x 3 5/8"

  • DSP 2: 3 3/4" x 2 3/4"

  • Basic White: 3 1/2" x 2 1/2"

Once the rainbow was cut out with the die, I cut a piece of DSP to lay behind for this beautiful rainbow look. The sentiment was heat embossed in white on Bermuda Bay. This piece actually also comes from the dies, I just snipped off the little rainbow from the top. Finished off with the little clouds and butterflies and I think this card is so sweet!

I hope that you like these cards that show off some of the amazing patterns from the Sunshine & Rainbows DSP. Remember that you can earn this paper for free with a $60 purchase only until the end of February.
