Saturday Blog Hop: Christmas Trees

ree

Hello! Thanks for joining us on our Create with Stamping Friends Saturday Blog Hop! I'm really enjoying these weeks of some Christmas themes - it will be good to get some more card ideas! Our theme this week was to make a card featuring Christmas trees or branches. I was feeling like going all out with a shaker card, so I focused on some fun & festive Christmas trees!

Stampin' Up! Merry Christmas Card Idea.

Products Used

  • Colour Combo: Poppy Parade, Shy Shamrock, Strawberry Slush & Pool Party.

  • Stamp Set: I think this tree stamp & die is my most used one of the whole season! It's from the 'Ornamental Christmas' Bundle and I just love the cute look of this tree.

  • Shaker Card Tools: You'll need some Window Sheets, Foam Adhesive Strips & the Loose Gold Sequins to make the magic happen.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Card Base: (I made a Slim Line Card so I could fit 3 trees on it!)

    1. Cut Thick Basic White Cardstock to 8 1/2" x 7".

      1. Score in half at 3 1/2".

  2. Card Front:

    1. Cut Pool Party Cardstock to 8 1/4" x 3 1/4".

    2. Cut out the 3 trees.

    3. Emboss with the Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder.

    4. Cut a Window Sheet to 8 1/8" x 3 1/8". Adhere to the back of the Pool Party piece.

  3. Trees:

    1. Stamp, emboss & cut out 3 trees. One in Poppy Parade, one in Shy Shamrock and one in Strawberry Slush. Adhere each one to a piece of cardstock in each colour (approx. 2 1/2" x 3" each).

  4. Shaker Details:

    1. On the back of the Window Sheet, add Foam Adhesive Strips around each tree.

    2. Then one at a time, add a few sequins on top of the tree, then line up the card front on top of the tree and secure. (The Foam Strips will stick to the larger cardstock piece you cut and it makes it easier to line up each tree accurately).

    3. Add adhesive to the back and adhere to your card base.

  5. Finishing Details:

    1. Add sentiment of your choice. I mixed a couple stamp sets in Poppy Parade and added to the card front with mini dimensionals.

    2. Finish card with the peppermints! (They're still looking good on everything and I can't stop using them!😅)
