Saturday Blog Hop: Easter Card

Hello! Thanks for joining us on the Create with Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop! For this week's theme I was excited to start thinking about Easter projects. I love these years when Easter comes a bit later in April as that means we have a better chance at a sunny and warm Easter here in Calgary where March can still be cold and snowy!

Spring and Easter definitely have me thinking about tulips, so I knew I wanted to use the Tulips Dies on this card. On a white card base, I added a Soft Sea Foam layer cut at 3 3/4" x 5" and then this fabulous design from the Flowering Fields DSP cut at 3 1/2" x 4 3/4", which I puffed up with some Stampin' Dimensionals.

To create some fun texture on the tulip, I cut the flower out in So Saffron and daubed on Mango Melody. I used the same technique with the leaves. They were cut out in Soft Sea Foam and I added a bit of Pear Pizzazz ink to them. I was so excited to have an actual Easter sentiment this year, found in the Celebrating You Stamp Set. I think it looks lovely heat embossed in white on Pear Pizzazz.
