Hello! Thanks for joining us on the Create with Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop! For this week's theme, we were to choose our favourite stamp set from the January to April 2023 Mini Catalogue. Well, of course there were many that I could have chosen, but the Best Day Stamp Set was one that grabbed my eye the second I saw it in the new catalogue.
I love that you can play around with the images to make some fun birthday projects. For this card I wanted to colour the awesome cake. Wouldn't you love to get a birthday cake like this?! I tried my hand at some colouring with my Stampin' Blends and went for a bright colour palette. To colour I used: Granny Apple Green, Pool Party, Daffodil Delight and Real Red.
I decided to fussy cut it out and then using Stampin' Dimensionals, I put it on some Parakeet Party Glimmer Paper and fussy cut that out too! To let the cake be the focal point, I used white as a background, just adding some texture with the Hive 3D Embossing Folder.

Colouring can sometimes be intimidating, but I encourage you to stamp a couple and play around with the colours to see what you like best! My first one showed me what I didn't like (haha!) and then I think this cake turned out pretty good. Handmade means it doesn't have to be perfect.
