Saturday Blog Hop: Go Green

Hello! Thanks for joining us on the Create with Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop! Well, St. Patrick's Day is just around the corner and we're thinking about all things Green! I kind of went a different route than a card specifically for St. Patrick's Day, because I wanted to show off one of my favourite greens of the moment, Parakeet Party.

Handmade Stampin' Up! Card Ideas with Parakeet Party In Color

I have been wanting to made a card using this die from the Teacup dies that could be a lime wedge. I love the freshness of limes and think it looks so cute on this card surrounded by all things Parakeet Party.

On a white card base, I used my Blending Brush to add a little bit of the Parakeet Party ink to the background. I then just cut strips of whatever I had in this colour; a little DSP, cardstock and glimmer paper. The limes were created by blending the Parakeet Party onto white cardstock and then cutting them out to give a little more variation to the colour than if I had just cut it out of cardstock. It was a little fussy with all the little pieces, so I made sure to use my Adhesive Sheets so they were at least easy to add to the card.

Any sentiment would work here, but I chose one from the Shaded Summer Stamp Set and heat embossed it on Crumb Cake Cardstock.
