Saturday Blog Hop: Holiday Magic

ree

Hello! Thanks for joining us on our Create with Stamping Friends Saturday Blog Hop! This week our theme is Holiday Magic - and what better way to represent that than a cute little elf!

Stampin' Up! Christmas Card Idea.

Products Used

  • Colour Combo: Sticking with a classic Red & Green for this card.

  • Stamp Set: 'Festive Friends'. I'm loving colouring these Christmas icons - Santa, a snowman and this week's elf!

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Card Base:

    1. Cut Real Red Cardstock to 8 1/2" x 5 1/2".

      1. Score in half at 4 1/4".

  2. Card Front:

    1. Cut DSP to 3 3/4" x 5".

    2. Cut out the circle with the 'Ornamental Christmas' Dies.

    3. Use this as a template see where to stamp your elf.

    4. Cut Basic White cardstock to 4" x 5 1/4".

      1. Stamp the elf in Memento Tuxedo Black.

      2. Colour in as desired.

      3. Stamp a second elf on a piece of masking paper. Cut out exactly, place over the original elf. Then using a Blending Brush, add a bit of Pool Party ink to create the background. Stamp some snowflakes if desired.

    5. Add Basic White to card base with SEAL.

    6. Add DSP to card base with dimensionals.

  3. Sentiment:

    1. Heat emboss your sentiment in white on Real Red Cardstock. I mixed and matched a couple stamp sets.

      1. The 'Holly Jolly' is cut to 3 3/4" x 1". The 'Christmas' was fussy cut. Add both to card with SEAL.

    2. Finish card with Peppermints or embellishment of your choice!
