Saturday Blog Hop: Peek a Boo Cards

Hello! Thanks for joining us on the Create with Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop! The theme for this week is Peek A Boo Cards. I love this look on a card, it's a fun but simple detail you can add to give an extra wow factor to your card. I'm still feeling the spring vibes, so I used the Darling Details Bundle with Lemon Lolly and Calypso Coral as the colours.

Stampin' Up! Peek a boo card idea. Darling Details Stamp Set.

On a Smoky Slate card base, I used a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of DSP to add to the front. This fun yellow striped pattern is from the Bright & Beautiful DSP. Then using the Nested Essentials Dies I cut out the hole through both layers.

To create the frame I used 2 sizes of the rectangle dies together and then glued it around the opening for a more finished look. You can create any accent you want for the front. Here I stamped a few flowers, cut out a couple leaves and added a sentiment.

Now to complete the rest of the peek a boo! Using the same sized die that the hole was cut out with, I cut out a piece of DSP to highlight. (This cute plaid pattern is actually from the A Little Latte DSP). Then I added another flower to peek out from behind.

The Peek a Boo is definitely a fun look, I hope you'll try it out on your next card!

I love the way you used the Nested Essentials dies. I had not thought of using them this way and I love the results.
