Hello! Thanks for joining us on the Create with Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop! Our theme for this week is Summer Lovin'. Here in Calgary we have already had so much summer weather and are finally enjoying a bit of rain. Summer is definitely my favourite time of year and my inspiration for my card today was a couple of my favourite colours and my favourite sentiment.
This happy saying from the Good Feelings Stamp Set is such a perfect one for summer. I wanted it to be the focal point, so the rest of the card is pretty simple. On a white background I added a bit of colour using my Blending Brushes. I've used Lemon Lolly on the bottom and Bubble Bath on top. Then I stamped the sentiment on top in Berry Burst. This is just matted on Berry Burst Cardstock on a white card base.
The little flowers come from the Sweet Citrus Stamp Set. I again used blending brushes to add a bit of Lemon Lolly to white cardstock and then stamped the flower images on top. They easily cut out with the coordinating dies. I decided they needed a little sparkle and so just added the classic Rhinestone Basic Jewels as the centre for the flowers.
