Hello! Thanks for joining us on the Create with Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop! I'm having a lot of fun with our colour themed cards and this week we were to combine one of the new In Colors with black. I chose Starry Sky, which is such a lovely rich purply blue colour.
I decided to go with a slimline card, which I find creates a little bit of drama.
The dimensions are:
Basic Black Card Base: 7" x 8 1/2", scored in half at 3 1/2".
Starry Sky Cardstock: 8 3/8" x 3 3/8"
Basic Black: 6 1/8" x 3 1/8"
Starry Sky DSP: 6" x 3"
Glimmer Paper: 3 3/4" x 1 3/8"
Using a flower image from the Hand-Penned Petals Stamp Set, I created a tone on tone look for the background by stamping in Starry Sky ink on Starry Sky cardstock. The flower detail comes from the coordinating Penned Flowers Dies. If you cut this out using Adhesive Sheets, it makes it so much easier to add such a detailed die cut to your card.
My favourite part of this card is the "thanks". I cut the word out from the Amazing Thanks Dies, using the Starry Sky Glimmer Paper and layered it on black cardstock. I kept the piece of glimmer paper that I cut the word out from and added the "thanks" back on top using Mini Stampin' Dimensionals. I think the fun thing about this card is that it would look great in all of the new In Colors!
