Saturday Blog Hop: Unmasked

Hello! Thanks for joining us on our Create with Stamping Friends Saturday Blog Hop! This week we're having fun with the masking technique. There are many cool ways to use this technique and I can't wait to see what all the other ladies create! I decided to use masking as a way to create a border and add some fun colouring with the Blending Brushes.

Stampin' Up! Masking Technique. Latte Love Stamp Set
Materials Used

This week I've gone back to one of my favourite stamp sets and used a pretty, muted fall colour combo:

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Card Base:

    1. Cut Moody Mauve Cardstock to 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" and score in half at 4 1/4" to make the base of the card.

    2. Cut a 3 3/4" x 5" piece of Basic White.

    3. Tear 4 pieces of Masking Paper and create a border on the Basic White. TIP: I remove some of the stickiness of the paper by sticking it to my sweater or a cloth so that it comes off the paper a bit easier when I'm done blending.

  2. Blending:

    1. Using the Blending Brushes, start with Wild Wheat on the bottom. Then transition to Moody Mauve and then Pretty in Pink at the top.

    2. Peel off the Masking Paper to reveal your pretty background!

  3. Coffee Cup:

    1. I stamped the cup in Moody Mauve and then used the Blending Brushes in the same colour. I then fussy cut it out.

    2. Stamp the coffee in Pecan Pie, cut it out and add to cup.

    3. Holding the cup to check position, I then stamped the coffee spill image and the steam in Crumb Cake.

    4. Layer on the cup with Stampin' Dimensionals.

    5. Add the sentiment, stamped in Moody Mauve.
