I have really been enjoying creating handmade cards with the Delicate Dahlias Stamp Set that can be currently earned for free with a purchase during Stampin' Up!'s Sale-a-bration. I was kind of always picturing it with bright colours as that is usually my go to, but the other day I saw it stamped with some beautiful fall tones and it just opened up the possibilities!
Merry Merlot is not a colour that I have used very often. I have kind of put it in a box to be used in Christmas colour schemes, but I'm finding that it looks so pretty for a fall look. It is the base for this card and it has a lovely grounding feel to me. The dahlia is actually inked up in Calypso Coral first and then I used a sponge dauber to add Merry Merlot to it in a few places. It's a technique that I learned with the Sweet as a Peach stamp set and it's a great one to have in your toolbox!
There are multiple sentiments that come with the Delicate Dahlia Stamp Set and I feel like this card could be made and then you could just add in the sentiment depending on what you needed a card for. I stamped this sympathy sentiment in Merry Merlot on Grey Granite cardstock and then just cut it to size.
