2 Birthday Card Ideas with the Shining Stars Dies: Weekly Class To Go

3 min read

Have you picked up the 'Shining Stars' Dies and wondered what to make with them? This week’s Class to Go has a few ideas for you!

I’ve used Stampin’ Up!’s October Product of the Month to create 2 celebration cards and a matching star-shaped gift tag. With solid stars and star frames, it’s easy to get a few different looks from the same dies.

And since I couldn’t resist another play with hot foiling, I’ve paired them with the Classic Greetings Hot Foil Dies. A few layers of pretty paper, some stars and those shiny sentiments and we’re ready to celebrate!

Take a look at this week’s projects below (including the video replay), and find out how you can get the Class to Go kit free with a qualifying order.

Stampin Up 2026 Classic Greetings Hot Foil Dies, Shining Stars Dies

Happy Birthday Card

The 'Shining Stars' Dies are such an amazing value at just $7 when you add them to your minimum $100 order. There are 23 different dies in the set and they will be so amazing for any occasion, for card making and for scrapbooking too!

  • Use the nesting stars to create this outline look. All the little stars make perfect little embellishments to add in.

  • I've also tried my hand at hot foiling again! I love the Silver Opal foil on the dark colour of Secret Sea. TIP: I got better results on my foil when I used the smoother Two-Tone cardstock instead of regular cardstock.

  • Basic Dimensions:

    • Crumb Cake DSP: 3 3/4" x 5".

    • Striped DSP: 3" x 5".

    • Note Paper DSP: 3" x 4"

    • All paper is from the 'Everyday Essentials' Mix & Match Designer Series Paper.

Celebrate Card & Tag

The inside of my star from the birthday card makes the perfect backdrop for the sentiment on this card.

  • Have you tried the Reverse Hot Foil Die yet? You'll want to watch the replay of the video below to see how to use it. The basics are you can hot foil your sentiment and then take the leftover foil to create the reverse look of the sentiment! Doesn't it look fun on the gift tag?

  • The 'Shining Stars' Dies also make fantastic gift tags! Cut the largest stars out of your favourite DSP, add a sentiment or other detail and add it to a gift bag for a personal touch!

  • Basic Dimensions for Card:

    • Secret Sea Two-Tone: 3 3/4" x 5".

    • Bubble Bath DSP: 3 1/2" x 4 3/4".
