Here we are at September 1st and my kiddos are officially back in school! I thought that it would be fun to make a card to celebrate this change from summer to fall. I always feel like September brings on a fresh start and I'm wishing my kids all the best as they head into Grade 3 and Grade 6! I really love the way that buffalo plaid looks in combination with fall decor, so I thought that it would be fun to try that out on a card.
When choosing your designer series paper, don't be afraid to combine a few different patterns together. Usually, if you go with a large pattern like the buffalo plaid, it will look great with a smaller pattern, like this awesome red herringbone found in the Painted Christmas DSP. My must have item from the new July - December 2021 Mini Catalogue from Stampin' Up! is definitely the Black & White Gingham Ribbon. Add it to your next order and it will be just the perfect addition to any fall or Christmas project! It looks great as is, like on this card, or you can even colour it with your Stampin' Blends to make it any colour you like!
Now, you may have also noticed that I used my favourite Sweet as a Peach Stamp Set to create my little apple! There are always ways to extend the life of a stamp set and moving from peaches to apples seems like the perfect transition from summer to fall.
