I love the challenge of making a card with colours that are not normally ones that I use. Every single time it helps me to see a colour in a new light and how amazing Stampin' Up!'s whole colour family is! This week for the Create with Connie & Mary colour challenge, we had 3 colours that I found were perfect for a fall themed card.
I went to one of my most favourite stamp sets to use in the fall, Celebrate Sunflowers. I have been loving seeing everyone's beautiful tall sunflowers in their yards as I drive through my neighbourhood! They are so amazing to look at and such a cheery flower! It worked perfect with the 3 colours that we were creating with this week; Soft Succulent, Cinnamon Cider and So Saffron.
I decided to keep this card fairly simple. Soft Succulent was used as the card base. I stamped the large sunflower image in So Saffron on a 4 3/4" x 3 1/2' piece of Basic White and adhered it to a 4 7/8"x 3 5/8" piece of Cinnamon Cider. My favourite part is actually the sentiment, which comes from the Thinking Thanks & Peace stamp set. The copper embossing powder just looks so perfect with these 3 colours and is actually my favourite metallic colour to use! Heat embossing is always a fairly simple way to add a little wow factor to your handmade card.
