Every other week, I get to create a card using a specific colour combo that is part of a Thursday challenge at Create with Connie & Mary. It is always fun to play along and I hope that you will do the same and use these colour ideas in your own card making. This week was a tiny bit different. We were given 2 neutral colours that we needed to combine with one of the 2021-2023 In Colors.
I really do love all 5 of the In Colors, but decided on Soft Succulent to add to Early Espresso and Crumb Cake. I felt that it looked really fabulous with this adorable pinecone paper that you can find in the Painted Christmas Designer Series Paper. Which colour might you choose?
This card is all about the paper layers and I love the really natural, rustic feel that it has. The card base is Crumb Cake and here are the rest of the basic dimensions for you.
Early Espresso: 3 3/4" x 5"
Pine Cone DSP: 3 5/8" x 4 7/8"
Soft Succulent DSP: 3 1/4" x 2"
Soft Succulent Banner: 4 1/4" x 3/4" (then punched with the Banners Pick a Punch)
Once I had all the layers down, I looped some linen thread and secured it to the card. The sentiment comes from one of my favourite stamp sets this year, Holly Jolly Wishes. It was cut out with the layering circles dies, then the coordinating scalloped circle was cut out in Early Espresso. Lastly, I adhered the sentiment to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.
