Hello! Thanks for joining us on the Create with Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop! Today we come to the last Case the Designer post and we're featuring the lovely Connie Babbert! I loved looking through all of her projects and came across this cute card from last year. I've been making a lot of super traditional cards lately and I thought it would be fun to play with this colour combo.
Petal Pink creates this unexpected fun card base and I used the same colour for my card. Then I layered in elements in Pool Party (in lieu of the retired Mint Macaron), Shaded Spruce and Poppy Parade. I thought it would be fun to connect the 'Fa La La La La' from the Merry Bright & Bold DSP with the 'Deck the Halls' sentiment from the Christmas Classics Stamp Set.
The DSP is cut to 5 1/4" x 2" and the Basic White is 5 1/4" x 2 1/4" and is embossed with the Stripes 3D Embossing Folder. To mimic the train tracks from Connie's card, I used a 1/2" strip of Smoky Slate to create some definition between the 2 papers.
The sentiment was heat embossed in white on Pool Party and cut out with a die from the Nested Essentials, I love those rounded corners! The cute little presents come from the Merriest Trees Stamp Set and were stamped in Pool Party, Poppy Parade and Shaded Spruce and layered up beside the sentiment. Add in a few Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels and it's all done!
