Saturday Blog Hop: Fun with Plaids

Hello! Thanks for joining us on our Create with Stamping Friends Saturday Blog Hop! This week our theme is having some Fun with Plaids. I am always in for making anything with plaid, it's definitely one of my favourite patterns. Right now Stampin' Up! has a fantastic plaid embossing folder, but I chose to use the 'Timeless Plaid' Designer Series Paper as the inspiration for my card.

Products Used

• Colour Combo: Lost Lagoon and Misty Moonlight for a nice soft palette.

• Stamp Set: I keep coming back to the amazing sentiments in the 'With You in Mind' Stamp. This is a must have stamp set for me!

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Card Base:

   1. Cut Thick Basic White cardstock to 8 1/2" x 5 1/2". Score in half at 4 1/4".

   2. Cut first pattern of DSP to 3 3/4" x 5". Add to card front.

   3. Cut Misty Moonlight cardstock to 3 1/2" x 4 3/4". Add to card.

   4. Cut second pattern of DSP to 3 3/8" x 4 5/8". Add to card.

   5. Cut strip of DSP to 4" x 1" and add to card.

2. Decorative Elements:

   1. Stamp 3 butterflies in Misty Moonlight and add a bit of colour to the wings using a Blending Brush.

   2. Cut out with coordinating die and add to card.

3. Sentiment:

   1. Heat emboss sentiment in white on Two-Tone Lost Lagoon cardstock. Cut out with a rectangle from the Textures Notes Dies and add to card with dimensionals.

   2. Add your gems!
