Hello! Thanks for joining us on the Create with Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop! Our theme for this week is 'Paper Perfection', focusing on our favourite new designer series paper. I really think that the paper from the January to April 2024 Mini Catalogue is all fantastic, I'm not sure there's one I don't like!
I chose the Lighter Than Air 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper. I love the soft whimsical colours and patterns in the paper.
To create this card, you just need to choose 2 coordinating patterns. I chose the polka dots for the bottom layer and cut it to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". The second piece of DSP was also cut to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and then I used the cloud looking die from the Basic Borders Dies to cut the paper at an angle. There's no right or wrong for how much you cut off. Then I adhered it to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. My card base was cut from Bubble Bath cardstock (you can't see it, but it's there!), but you could use any of the coordinating colours.
Next up is the balloons! I don't have the matching Hot Air Balloon Bundle to this paper, but I can still get the fun of the hot air balloons by cutting them right out of the DSP! I cut out 3 of the balloons and adhered them to the card with Stampin' SEAL.
Any sentiment would look great with this card, I chose this one from Sale-a-Bration's 'Softly Sophisticated' stamp set. It was heat embossed in white on Pebbled Path cardstock and punched out with my favourite Heartfelt Hexagon Punch.
Then, it's easy to add on the matching embellishments to finish off the card as you like!
