Saturday Blog Hop: Casing Libby

Hello! Thanks for joining us on the Create with Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop! We only have couple weeks left for our theme of Casing each other's projects. This is where we take a card from another designer and re-create it in our own way. Libby Fens is the star this week and I just loved this cutie card with the Yeti. I loved the idea of pairing a bluey-green colour with red, which isn't something I have done much.

The nice plaid paper in her card was Soft Succulent, which is a retired colour. I thought that Lost Lagoon would be a nice replacement for that colour and I think this Snowflake Magic Specialty DSP is a hidden gem in the Mini Catalogue.

The DSP was cut to 3 1/2" x 4 3/4"and the Real Red cardstock was cut to 3 5/8" x 4 7/8". In lieu of the Yeti (which I loved!), I decided to use the Merriest Trees Bundle and go outside of my comfort zone a bit and go for a blue and silver tree. I cut the largest tree out in Basic White and then stamped the detail in Lost Lagoon.

The pretty sparkles are from the Merriest Trees Dies and cut out from the Online Exclusive Silver Adhesive-Backed Glimmer Paper, which means it was super easy to adhere to the card!

I mimicked the straight lines from Libby's card with the 3 3/4" x 1" strip of Real Red cardstock that is behind the tree and sentiment. A great trick for this sentiment is to only stamp the 'Merry Christmas'. I heat embossed it in white on Lost Lagoon cardstock and fussy cut it out. Thanks for the great ideas, Libby!
