Saturday Blog Hop: Repetitive Backgrounds

Hello! Thanks for joining us on our Create with Stamping Friends Saturday Blog Hop! We love creating for you to give you some inspiration in your own crafting.

Did you know that we're on Instagram? You can follow us here @createwithstampingfriends.

This week's theme is a fun one - create a card with repetitive patterns. I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with! I chose to create with the (retiring!) 'Joyful Squares' Bundle as it has lots of patterned stamps to have fun with.

Stampin' Up! Card Ideas 2026. Happy Birthday Card. Joyful Squares Bundle

Products Used

  • Colour Combo: Bright & Happy! Daffodil Delight & Strawberry Slush.

  • Bundle: 'Joyful Squares'. This set has really fun dies and images to create with. Get it while you can, it's on the Last Chance Products List!

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Card Base:

    1. Cut Thick Basic White Cardstock to 8 1/2" x 5 1/2".

    2. Score in half at 4 1/4".

  2. Card Front:

    1. Cut Daffodil Delight Two-Tone Cardstock to 4" x 5 1/4" and use the lighter side.

      1. Stamp the sunburst image to create a background. 2 on the left and 2 on the right fits just perfect. Add to card base.

    2. Cut a 3 1/2" x 4 3/4" piece of Basic White Cardstock.

      1. Stamp the lined image in a repeating pattern down the paper, making sure to never have any line match up.

      2. Add more Daffodil Delight colour to this piece with a Blending Brush. Add to card front at an angle.

  3. Sentiment:

    1. Using the 'Joyful Squares' Bundle, cut out the frame from light Two-Tone Daffodil Delight.

      1. Stamp the stripes on the frame.

    2. Cut out the the square again, this time in Basic White and use the smaller inside square.

      1. Stamp the sentiment on in Black and add Daffodil Delight with a Blending Brush.

    3. Stamp & cut out the clip image and a few flowers from any die set you have. (These flowers are from the 'Filled with Sweetness' Dies).

    4. Add all these onto the card front with dimensionals.
