Saturday Blog Hop: Sprigs & Twigs

Our theme for this week was Sprigs & Twigs. When I started designing my card I was picturing lots of leaves and twigs, but it turned out to be more about ladybugs! I just have so many ladybugs this year in my yard and there are so many cute products right now that feature them. 🐞

Products Used

• Bundle: 'Springtime Scenes'. This is a really fantastic bundle. I think it's a bit under the radar, but it has so many fun details in it.

• Colour Combo: Peaceful Pine, Pool Party and a hint of Secret Sea and red for the ladybugs of course!

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Card Base:

   1. Cut Pool Party Cardstock to 8 1/2" x 5 1/2".

   2. Score in half at 4 1/4".

2. Card Front:

   1. Cut your choice of DSP for the background to 4" x 4 1/2". Add to Card.

   2. Cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to 3 3/4" x 3 3/4". Then emboss with the 'Ladybug Picnic' 3D Embossing Folder. Then cut into 3 strips that are 1 1/4" wide. Add to card front.

3. Details:

   1. Stamp 3 sets of leaves in Black. Colour with Peaceful Pine Stampin' Blends. Then colour around the outside of the leaves too with Pool Party. Add to card.

   2. Using the Pool Party Stampin' Blends, add a bit of colour to Basic White, then stamp your sentiment on in Peaceful Pine. Add to card with dimensionals.

   3. Cut out the ladybug using the 'Springtime Scenes' Dies and add to card with a bit of linen thread behind if you like.

   4. Finish off with the adorable 'Ladybug Garden' Epoxy Shapes!
