Spring Fun with Pansy Petals

Last week at my 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue Launch Party, I had a lot of fun showing off the amazing Pansy Petals Suite. I always love seeing sweet little pansies as it usually marks the beginning of gardening season around here in Calgary!

I think what I love about this suite is that is has something for every level of crafter. You can just enjoy the Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper if you are newer to crafting. Then, you can add in the Pansy Patch Stamp Set to create your own stamped pansies and use the sweet sentiments. Finally, add in the Pansy Dies to really take your cards and projects to the next level!

This adorable gift box is made easy with the Mini Paper Pumpkin boxes. I covered the box with the lovely gingham pattern from the Pansy Petals DSP.

The dimensions for the DSP on the box are:

  • Top of Box: 5 1/4" x 3 1/4"

  • Front and Back: 5 1/4" x 3/4"

  • Sides: 3 1/4" x 3/4"

I wanted the pansy to be the star of the show on the tag. The tag itself is cut out from the DSP using the Scalloped Contours Dies (new favourite!). The pansy itself is fun to make, it just takes a little patience in cutting out all the pieces! The base of the pansy is Basic White. The outline and the 2 petals are Polished Pink. The middle of the flower and the edge of the petals was cut out in Pale Papaya and the little centre is just Basic Black. The leaf was cut out using Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent Cardstock. Lots of ways to use all of the new In Colors!

Here is another card I made that highlights how you can simply cut the pansies out of the DSP if you like! If you would like to know how to make this card, check out this blog post here where the sketch design came from.

You can use the Pansy Dies to cut out the flowers (and the leaves!), or if you don't have the dies you can also fussy cut them out yourself!

Last but not least (and I really love this one), is a card that features just the Pansy Patch stamp set. It's fun to see the stamp used in a way that looks a little different than your traditional pansy.

Using the Scalloped Contours Dies again, I stamped the smaller shape with pansies in Polished Pink and paired it up with Just Jade. I think these 2 colours just look fabulous together! A little pop of black and this card comes together really well!

If I have at all sparked your interest in the Pansy Petals Suite, be sure to add it to your next order so you can have your own crafty fun! Everything I used in these cards is listed below so that it is easy to add it to an order! You can always contact me anytime for help as well.
