Two Bright & Summery Cards Just for Fun!

This week looks a little different around here! I’m taking a short break from my usual Weekly Class to Go while I enjoy a little summer time with my kiddos and get everything ready for my big BOGO event next week.
While there isn’t a video or Class to Go kit this week, I still wanted to share a couple of cards with you. These were both cards I’ve had on my “want to make” list. One inspired by a design I saw online and the other was because I felt like it was time to do some colouring!
Both turned out bright, cheerful and perfect for summer.
Hello Sunshine
For my first card, I used the Scalloped Blooms Dies to create the sweetest white daisies with sunny yellow centres.
The original idea was inspired by a card I saw online and I was so excited to try out a similar look. I use some of my favourite colours with Flirty Flamingo & Daffodil Delight to add a bit of a summery touch.
And of course, I had to finish it with my favourite “Hello Sunshine” sentiment from the Splash & Relax Bundle.
Basic Dimensions:
Card Base: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2". Score in half at 4 1/4".
Flirty Flamingo Two-Tone: 4" x 5 1/4".
DSP (Beautiful Ordinary Life): 2" x 5 1/4".
Flirty Flamingo Cardstock: 1/2" x 5 1/4".
Linen Thread: 10"
A Bright and Colourful Birthday Card
My second card was all about having some fun with colouring! I used the 'Flowers Field' Stamp Set to create the floral background and coloured with Melon Mambo and Crisp Cantaloupe. I love how bright and happy these colours look together. To soften the background, I used a blending brush and added Granny Apple Green on the bottom and Pool Party on the top.
With such a colourful background, the card didn’t need much else. I added a simple 'Happy Birthday' sentiment to finish it off and let those pretty flowers be the star.
Basic Dimensions:
Crisp Cantaloupe Card Base: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2". Scored in half at 4 1/4".
Melon Mambo Cardstock: 4 1/8" x 5 1/8".
Basic White: 4" x 5".
Sentiment: Cut to size.
