Sketch Inspiration: CCMC653

This week for the sketch challenge for Create with Connie & Mary, I featured the Dandy Garden Designer Series Paper. There are so many fun patterns in this paper stack you could use the same layout and create so many different looks!

Here is a look at the sketch challenge for this week so that you can create along with us. Did you know that you could head over to the Facebook Page and share your own creation there? We would love to see what you make!

To make my card I first chose 4 patterns of paper from the Dandy Garden DSP that I thought would look great together. I cut each one at 1 1/2" x 3 3/4". I layered these in the overlapping pattern on a Smoky Slate card base. Then, I cut another piece of Smoky Slate cardstock at 3 5/8" x 2 3/8" and layered it with another great pattern of the DSP, cut at 3 1/2" x 2 1/4". Once these pieces were all adhered to the card base, I wrapped some Night of Navy Twine around the card 3 times.

I decided to challenge myself a bit and colour in the dragonfly image from the Dragonfly Garden Stamp Set. I encourage you not to be afraid to colour! There really is no wrong way to do it. The Stampin' Blends work so well they do all the hard work for you. The key is to just go over a few times to keep blending in the lines between the colours. I used the Daffodil Delight and Pool Party Blends here. I also love using the Dragonflies Punch to easily add more detail to a card, so I punched out a few from Bumblebee cardstock.

The sentiment comes from the same stamp set and was cut out with a label die from the Potted Succulents Dies. (My fav!).

I hope you'll head over to Create with Connie & Mary to see what all the other fabulous designers created this week! You can also see below for a list of all the products I used today.
