I have a great Father's Day Card for you today using the sketch challenge from Create with Connie & Mary. The sketch is a lovely simple and elegant design. When I saw it for the first time, I instantly thought of the tie image from the Handsomely Suited Stamp Set.
What do you think?! I love the simplicity of this card because when I think about my dad or my husband, fussy cards definitely wouldn't be their style.
Here is the sketch so you can see how this card came together.
This is actually the first time that I played around with some of the products from the Well Suited Suite, which you can find in the current January to June 2021 Mini Catalogue from Stampin' Up!. One of my favourite things is when I get a new package of Designer Series Paper and pull it out and look at all the amazing patterns. I find that I always love them so much more in person than I do from the catalogue. Seriously, every time! This set is no different, the masculine patterns are so crisp and perfect. I mean, come on, check out that pinstripe!
To make this card, I first chose 2 patterns that I thought would look really good together. Then I cut them each at 4 3/4" x 3 1/2". I then cut a piece of Pacific Point Cardstock at 4" x 1 3/4" and layered the 3 pieces together before I attached them to the card base. I wrapped the Basic Grey Twine for the Well Suited Twine Combo Pack around these layers 3 times and then tied a knot to the left. Now, I could attach this whole piece to my Basic White card base.
The sentiment is stamped on a piece of Basic White cut at 3 1/2" x 1 1/2" in Pacific Point ink and layered on top of the card using Stampin' Dimensionals. All that is left is the tie! Some stamp sets are just so much fun to play with and I really love this tie for some reason! I don't have the coordinating dies at the moment, so I simply stamped the tie image in Night of Navy ink on Grey Granite Cardstock and then cut it out by hand.
I think that you can have a lot of fun with both this suite and this fun and simple layout. Be sure to head over to Create with Connie & Mary in order to see all the other amazing cards that everyone made this week. There is lots of inspiration for you! If you would like any of the products I used today, just see the end of this post for a full list!
